Pearl has been in the industry for almost 20 years and is currently a Metro Station Officer. Pearl’s rail industry knowledge ranges across Flinders Street, City Loop, Northern Group and Southern Cross with her industrial experience including representation of staff under the Metro Trains Enterprise Agreement and attending the Fair Work Commission.
In 2014, Pearl was left to fight on her own against Metro Trains when her previous Union representatives neglected her and told her she has no chance of winning if she went to Fair Work. Pearl pursued the matter herself and with the help of Marc Marotta, won her unfair dismissal case against Metro and was reinstated. Since then, Pearl has organised representations for herself and her work colleagues and fought against harassment, bullying and unfair treatment. Over the years Pearl’s industrial knowledge has grown and she never wants to see what happened to her happen to anyone else.
Pearl believes ALL members should be treated with respect and should always be represented, not dismissed. - ITU Secretary

Tanyol became a delegate to improve workers conditions, specifically working with his previous union on the last 5 Enterprise Agreements as a bargaining representative for the Workshops. Tanyol was the representative for his colleagues ensuring their Enterprise Agreement claims and other day-to-day needs and complaints were brought to the attention of the Union organiser. But he and his colleagues were being ignored, and their claims were not being supported or actioned, so Tanyol decided to take control and started organising representations of his colleagues himself to ensure that their needs were being acted upon.
Tanyol believes that all members should have equal rights and that officials should fight for uniform, fair and equitable conditions.

Being a part of the Pacific National Bulk Roster committee and then becoming a roster coordinator at V/Line, Richard is experienced in communicating with management on non-compliance with the rostering provisions in the Enterprise Agreement and is and will continue to fight for the best possible outcomes.
Richard is reliably available to members for immediate advise and support for workplace matters and has been a first contact for union members dealing with matters including rostering issues, parental leave, disciplinary issues, public holiday and payment matters to name a few.
Richard is a strong unionist believing in serving his members in a transparent and ethical manner and has been disappointed with the Victorian Branch of the RTBU and was one of the founding members of the ITU in an effort to provide a better option to members.

Mario has been in the industry for 17 years, working as a car builder at Alstom. Mario has 10 years’ experience as a delegate and has fought to represent workers needs against the employer with little to no support from his previous Union leaders.
Mario decided he wanted better for his work colleagues and has joined the ITU to help better represent his colleagues and other workers in the industry more broadly, to ensure that everyone gets support and representation when they require it. Mario has worked closely with Tanyol and is taking a strong and active interest in Industrial Representation with the knowhow and ability to adapt, learn more industrial skills and complete administrative tasks to help all members. Mario has worked hard to help establish the ITU and has a great ability to get things organised for his members. - ITU Delegates
