Membership Information

Payment Structure

Membership fees are used for expert industrial advocacy, representation and bargaining.

All members will be charged on a Quarterly basis (every three months) in advance on the first day of the quarter.

Payment options include:

Direct Debit either fortnightly or Quarterly by Bank or Credit Card,
EFT (internet transfer),
Credit Card payment directly online via the member portal.

The Membership Fees have been passed by resolution of the Members at the General Meeting in April 2024. All future fees are also to be determined at each Annual General Meeting by members.

Your membership fees are tax deductible.

The ITU fees are 14.5% less than the RTBU Rail Division.
Every member of the RTBU has to pay 14.5% to the RTBU National Office for Capitation which is a total waste of member money.
We will not be wasting your money, so our fees are 14.5% less.

Quarterly

The ITU is split into divisions covering each sector of the transport industry as a new transport union:

Rail Division including- Infrastructure Maintenance, Rail Workshops, Administration Staff and Operational Staff.
Locomotive Division – Including all locomotive and train drivers.
Tram Division – Including all drivers, AO’s and operational staff.
Road Transport Division – Associate members working in the Road industry such as bus drivers and truck drivers

Annually

The ITU has an Executive Committee. This Executive Committee is elected every 4 years in accordance with the union Rules.

Cancellation of Deductions – To cancel your payroll deductions to the RTBU please print and complete this form and send it to your Employer payroll department. The ITU do not take payment via deductions and will NOT cancel these for you. Please keep a copy of this form for your records.
